COOPER JOHNSON
In the summer of 1992 Cooper Johnson broke free of his icy surroundings in isolated Bristol Bay Alaska to come to the states and make it as an artist…

After several years of labor intensive, non creative, back breaking work Cooper decided that school might help pave the path to a non rock moving career.

In 1994 cooper Johnson was excepted into The Art Institute of Seattle, where he quickly realized this was NOT where he wanted to be so yet again he broke free of his cold surroundings and went looking for his creative place in the world.

In 1995 Cooper Johnson landed his first job as a Tattoo artist (did I forget to mention that cooper fell in love with tattoos as an art form and has been marking up his friends, family and any stray animal he could get his hands on since he was 17… I was joking about the stray animal thing)

Ok, so years go by and Cooper traveled the world as a tattoo artist working out of Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Boston, and Paris where he won several awards at conventions the last being Best of Show in Normandy France.

Moving right along… In 1997 cooper returned to Los Angeles and began working in the ever lucrative, most popular and soon to be doomed WWW industry; where he worked for such companies as Digital Planet, The DEN, Disney Online, The WB, IceBox, Nickelodeon, CBS and Believe Media to name a few.

You may have noticed I mentioned Doomed before, well Cooper was one of the many that was living a BIT above his means when the industry decided to CRASH and define itself.

In 2002 After Crawling out from under the cardboard he was sleeping in (metaphorically), Cooper decided to pursue his passion for Film and was picked up by Believe media as a budding new director and shot music videos for bands like GlassJaw, Dakona, Hot Hot Heat, The Golden Republic and Staind. Hot Hot Heat picked him up an MVPA nomination for Best video under 20,000.

In 2004 his passion for Film, design, animation and all things that move led him to Broadcast and Motion design where he has had the pleasure to work for such companies as Universal Music, Showtime, Picture Mill and DirecTV.

With that said, Cooper Johnson is a contractor for hire as a Art Director, animator, Illustrator, Director and if you can convince him a Tattoo artist but don’t hold your breath on that last one.
